Modular Kitchens

(Source: filminterior.com)

Kitchen can be a really blissful place if you love to cook. On the other side, if cooking is just something that you got to do as a routine job, why not your drab kitchen a new sexy avatar.
One of the best way to do it is to convert your normal routine kitchen into modular kitchen. Personally, I love modular kitchens. I think they are cool, smart and highly efficient. So here are some places where you could shop for modular kitchens.

Thekitchenstudio in Delhi and Gurgaon has some exciting options for modular kitchens. You can even shop for kitchen tiles and various kitchen appliances here.

Sapna Interiors in Delhi also has some classy options. They have divided the kitchen stuff into modern, contemporary and traditional. I think you could skip traditional and explore M and C.

Akruti, based in Bombay, has a host of options to pick from. Must check out the website or visit their store in Tardeo.

(Source: interiorhit.com)

Vile Parle in Mumbai based Dream Kitchen seems like one of the best options so far. Interesting place with immense variety. Their Modular kitchens are divided on the basis of material so you can have steel kitchen, laminated kitchen, PU painted kitchen and so on and so forth. Another similar place to check out with is Sleek. The best part about Sleek is that it is available nationally, in almost all the , through dealers. they have all the locations on their website. Neat.

If you are based in Bangalore, a great option to pick your fancy modular kitchen from is Cuisine Classica. Again, they have divided the stuff into modern, contemporary and classic.

Lets go mad!

This post is on my favorite topic-quirky furniture. Some of it is recycled furniture which instantly ups the cool quotient. And some of it just some assembled pieces done in a fun way. Found a lot of stuff on this pretty interesting website trendhunter.com

(Source: trendhunter.com (via: christianehoegner, dornob))
Personally, I don't if I really like it cuz its slightly shabby but its innovative. I am guessing the cushions been stuck together through some means otherwise it would be a pain as they would keep falling off!

(Source: Trendhunter.com (Via: behance.net, industrialdesignserved))

Well, these coil chairs are a bit creepy for me but like I said I totally respect the innovation. The ones below look quite okay.

This one below is my favourite. This "alien" couch is sooo cute :) Love it.

The Number Game

Hellooo guys,

Sorry for not posting since so long. Have been too busy with sick people and hospitals. Anyways, the festive season is here and I am damn excited.

Just saw this really optimistic news piece on furniture growth in India which says "The furniture sector in India is estimated to grow at an annual rate of 20% while that of furniture imports at a rate of 64% per year. The sector’s strategy is to better meet domestic needs and also increase exports of Indian made furniture." Cool na...If you want to get into the details on the report, click here.

Go Ethnic

Personally, I am not too fond of ethnic furniture but for some people ethnic is a trademark and they like to reflect it through their abodes. You can either adorn your entire house with ethnic / antique furniture or some selected places like your living room. In any case, I found some cool stuff online. Here it is :

AntiquesIndian (based in Jodhpur) has some great ethnic stuff. Must check out their catalog online. A LOT of variety and a lot of products! Then there is Antique India Furniture (again, based in Jodhpur) which seems like a good option.

Guys, if you have too much money to splurge then there is silver furniture that you can decorate your house with. The Vinayak in Jodhpur is a good place to look at. They even have representatives in UAE and UK. They have silver beds, tables, chairs and silver thrones too!!! Go crazy!!!:p

Phillips, a south Mumbai based outlet, has some interesting ethnic furniture including beds, chests, bookshelves, writing desks etc and a good online catalog. I like!

Through this blogpost, I figured there is good stuff to be explored in the local market of Oshiwara, Andheri. Read the post for more details.

Now, I don't know if its antique or not but this Delhi based outfit, Delhi Furniture Company, offers carved wooden ethnic furniture. Check it out.

A whiff of fresh air-Garden Furniture

(Source:ncfurniturewholesalers.com)

Well, this idea came from the plan that I have to revamp my house terrace. I have always wanted to have a cute little garden up on my terrace and finally going to do it. While I am a big fan of the classic bench furniture for terrace and gardens, I just discovered a lot of new options. Really like the bench above. It has this wonderful rustic appeal. Here are some options to pick up your garden furniture in India.

Loom Crafts, based in Ghaziabad, with offices in Mumbai and Bangalore too specializes in outdoor furniture. its not just garden furniture, it also includes a lot of poolside stuff too. Looks nice. Check it out.

Also found these wholesaler Delhi based guys, Shiva Garden Shop, As the name suggest, they specialize in garden furniture. A lot of variety in garden benches, garden lamps, chair sets etc and an online catalog. Must check out. Another option in the same category Outdoorfurniturez. They have a whole lot of options.

Bangalore based Casa Modern also has some stuff under the garden furniture category. Unfortunately their website has no stuff online.

Garden Furniture India is another option in Bangalore and Delhi. Their stuff is quite basic. So if you like traditional garden furniture, then you can check them out.

Guys, if you are specifically looking for cane furniture for your garden then check Bhatia Cane.

Pool-Dining Table

(Source: http://koralturk.com.tr/koral/)

Guys, look what I found this morning. All the pool-boys who have been fighting with the dining table-girls can thank me now (Remember the fight between Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston in the terrible movie-The Breakup..:p). This is a pool table which can be easily converted into a dining table and vice versa. I like!

Living in a GLASS house

(Source: Glasitalia.com)

This was a rather wonderful discovery for people like me who are fascinated with glass furniture. If I had the option I would adorn my house with all things glass. Found this website of a really cool company called Glasitalia based in Italy. Some really cool stuff to admire and get inspiration from. Do check out the entire website. The look and feel is fabulous. Also, the main highlight is that each and every product has a fine description of the material used and how it was made!

Book-lovers' delight

(Source: iqclicks.com)

I can safely say that all the book lovers are sort of obsessed with the storage of their books too. While some people go the traditional route and have usual rectangular bookshelves to store the important love of their lives. However, the those book aficionados who want to explore their creative side can do experiment with bookshelves. These are some of the gems that I found.
